Dieter's Motors shop front on Ventura Blvd in Oxnard — Mercedes, BMW and Volvo service signs

Safe, quiet stops — done right the first time

Your brakes are the most important safety system on your vehicle, and they wear every single day. Stop-and-go traffic on Vineyard Avenue, the 101 commute to Camarillo and the grade out toward Ventura all add up. At Dieter's Motors we have been keeping Oxnard drivers stopping safely since 1972.

Every brake job starts with a real inspection: we measure pad thickness and rotor wear, check calipers, hoses and brake fluid, and road-test the vehicle. You get a clear explanation of what needs to be done now and what can wait — no pressure, no surprise add-ons.

We use quality pads and rotors matched to your vehicle — OEM-grade parts for European models like Mercedes-Benz and BMW, and dependable parts for domestic and Japanese cars, trucks and SUVs. Need more than brakes? We also handle steering & suspension and scheduled maintenance in the same visit.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Still not sure? Call (805) 485-1575 — we'll give you a straight answer.

How much does brake repair cost in Oxnard?

It depends on the vehicle and what's worn. A pad replacement on one axle costs less than pads, rotors and calipers on both axles, and European vehicles with wear sensors cost a little more. We inspect first and give you a written estimate before any work starts — call (805) 485-1575 for a quote.

How do I know if I need new brake pads or rotors?

Squealing, grinding, a vibrating pedal or longer stopping distances are the usual signs. Pads are typically replaced when they reach about 3 mm. Rotors are replaced or resurfaced when they are below minimum thickness, warped or scored. We measure both and tell you which you need.

How long does a brake job take?

Most pad and rotor replacements are finished the same day, often in one to two hours. Caliper, hose or ABS repairs can take longer depending on parts. We can provide a loaner or shuttle if you need to leave the car.

Do you do brakes on BMW, Mercedes-Benz and other European cars?

Yes. European brake systems are a specialty — including electronic parking brakes, wear sensors and service resets. We have worked on Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Volvo and Mini in Oxnard since 1972, and we service all other makes too.

Is a brake inspection free?

A brake check is included free with any service. If your brakes are making noise or the warning light is on, call us and we'll get you in for an inspection and an honest estimate.

Do you service brakes on trucks, fleets and RVs?

Yes. We handle heavy-duty brake work for pickups, work trucks, box trucks and motorhomes, with discounted rates for fleet accounts and RV owners. Ask for Joel about fleet pricing.
