Auto Electrical Repair in Oxnard, CA
Dead battery again? Clicking but no crank? Lights flickering or a dash full of warnings? Our ASE-certified technicians test the whole electrical system — battery, charging, starting, wiring and control modules — and fix the actual cause, not just the symptom.

Find the fault first — then fix it once
Modern vehicles run on electricity as much as fuel. A weak battery, a tired alternator or one corroded ground can trigger warning lights, kill the radio, stall the engine or leave you stuck in a parking lot. Coastal salt air around Oxnard and Port Hueneme and summer heat on the Oxnard Plain are both hard on batteries, terminals and connectors. Short trips around town make it worse, because the alternator never gets enough time to fully recharge the battery.
Throwing parts at an electrical problem gets expensive fast. Every job here starts with testing: battery load and state of health, alternator output, starter draw, voltage drop across cables and grounds, and a scan of every module for stored codes. If the battery keeps dying overnight, we measure parasitic draw and isolate the circuit that is staying awake. Then you get a clear estimate before any work starts.
We work on all makes, from daily commuters to work trucks, Sprinter vans and motorhome chassis — plus the complex networked electronics in Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche, where battery replacement often requires registering the new battery to the car. If a warning light is part of the story, see our car diagnostics page, and if the A/C blows warm because of a blower or relay fault, we handle A/C repair too.
Electrical repair for every make
Starting, charging, lighting and electronics — we test, pinpoint and repair the whole system.
Battery Testing & Replacement
Load and health testing, terminal and cable service, and new batteries installed and registered where the car requires it.
Alternators & Charging
Charging output, belt and voltage-regulator checks. Alternators replaced when testing — not guessing — says so.
Starters & No-Starts
Click, slow crank or nothing at all? We trace it to the starter, relay, ignition switch, immobilizer or wiring.
Parasitic Drain Diagnosis
Battery dead every few days? We measure draw and isolate the module or circuit draining it.
Wiring, Lighting & Grounds
Shorts, corroded connectors, failed grounds, headlights, tail lights, power windows and locks.
Modules & Upfit Wiring
Control-module faults and communication codes diagnosed with factory-level tools, plus work-truck upfit and RV 12V wiring.
Signs of an electrical problem
- Engine clicks or cranks slowly
- Battery dies after the car sits overnight or for a few days
- Battery or charging warning light on the dash
- Dim or flickering headlights and dash lights
- Burning smell, blown fuses or melted connectors
- Windows, locks, radio or gauges acting up at random
Why Oxnard drivers bring us electrical problems

Why does my car battery keep dying?
The three usual causes are a battery that can no longer hold a charge, an alternator that is not recharging it, or a parasitic drain where something stays powered after the car is off. Heat and short trips make it worse. We test the battery, measure alternator output and check key-off draw so we fix the real cause instead of selling you a second battery.
How do I know if it is the battery, the alternator or the starter?
A single click or slow crank with dim lights usually points to the battery or its cables. A car that starts after a jump but dies again, or a battery light while driving, points to charging. A strong battery with a click and no crank points to the starter or its circuit. Testing confirms it in minutes, so call (805) 485-1575.
How much does auto electrical repair cost in Oxnard?
It depends on what failed. A battery replacement is a quick job, while tracking an intermittent short or a parasitic drain takes diagnostic time. We test first and give you a written estimate before any repair begins. Free estimates are available on most cars.
Does a new battery need to be registered or coded?
On many Mercedes-Benz, BMW and other late-model vehicles, yes. The car's charging system adjusts to the battery's age and type, and skipping registration can shorten the new battery's life. We have the factory-level tools to register and code batteries properly.
Can you fix wiring on work trucks, vans and RVs?
Yes. We repair lighting, upfit wiring, batteries, charging and no-start problems on pickups, Sprinter and Metris vans, box trucks and fleet vehicles, and handle 12V chassis electrical and charging on motorhomes. We do not work on coach interior systems. Fleet accounts get a reduced labor rate — ask for Joel.
Can I drive with the battery light on?
Not for long. A battery light usually means the alternator is not charging, so the car is running on battery power alone and can shut off without warning, often within an hour or less. Turn off accessories, head straight to the shop and call us at (805) 485-1575 so we can test the charging system.
